Reading Room Appointment Form
"*" indicates required fields
Please prepare some information before making your appointment. The reading room form will ask you for the date and time of your preferred reading room visit. It will also ask for details of the library and archive material you would like to use. This allows our Library Assistant time to find and prepare the materials you would like to use. Please use the online collection catalogue to make a list of material you would like to see, including name of item, author, shelf mark and location to include on your reading room appointment form.
When using the online catalogue search function, think about the keywords important to your search, you can search dates, newspaper titles, book titles, authors or key words such as ‘songs’ ‘women,’ ‘miners’ etc. Get creative with your keywords to get the best results. We hold a vast collection at the library so narrow down the results by clicking on them and reading the full description.
No food, drink or pens are allowed in the reading room to protect our collection but we can provide you with a pencil.
You will receive a confirmation email of your booking, please await this email to confirm your appointment in the reading room.
If you have any access needs or would like to talk to us before making a booking, please contact us.
We look forward to welcoming you to the library.
