Partnerships

We work in partnership with organisations that share our values to deliver projects, events and research.

Here are some of the organisations we work in partnership with.

RECLAIM

RECLAIM is a charity that works with working class young people to build a fair and just world. They are our partner in our National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Big Flame: Inspiring Community Organising Then and Now. They will support the project by providing expertise in working with young people.

University of Salford

We work closely with our Higher Education partner, the University of Salford, which is located just across the road from the library. Their students and academic staff provide practical and academic support and in turn we provide volunteering opportunities, placements and space for exhibitions and events. Our Library Manager is a member of the Study for the Centre for Class, an inter-disciplinary research group open to academics and other researchers and practitioners whose work explores class.

HiDDEN

The library is a member of the HiDDEN network, a small group of independent libraries, museums and heritage sites in Greater Manchester who work together to raise our profile collectively. Other members include the Pankhurst Centre, Elizabeth Gaskell’s House and Chetham’s Library.
