Trade union donations are vital to the Working Class Movement Library
The library houses and cares for the historical records of the trade union movement. The Library relies on the support of trade unions to remain open and to make our collection accessible to everyone. We have support from many unions nationally, regionally and at branch level, as well as several trades councils.
“All too often, history reflects the prejudices and perspectives of those who hold power in our society. The WCML helps challenge these traditional narratives – documenting and bringing to life more than 200 years of working class struggle….in turn, that history allows us to shape today’s movement”. Paul Nowak, TUC General Secretary.
Will your trade union region or branch support us?
Union Regions – We encourage you to make a monthly supporter donation to the library. This can be done online. Alternatively, you can make an annual supporter donation to the library online or by annual invoice. We would suggest up to £250 a year for smaller unions and more for larger unions.
Union Branches – We encourage you to make a monthly supporter donation to the library. This can be done online. Alternatively, you can make an annual supporter donation to the library, and you can do this online or by annual invoice. We would suggest between £50 and £150 per year depending on the size of the branch.
In return for your donation you will receive:
- A free tour of the library for your group of up to 12 people.
- One free use of our event space per year.
