Curtains Up: Celebrating Theatre's Impact on Modern Workers' Movements

This event is for trade unionists, political agitators, students, and anyone interested in creative approaches to political activism. Facilitators including union reps, artists, and academics working in the UK and overseas will present talks and workshops on organising in the workplace, the picket-line, or in communities, using political theatre, video, song, and poetry.

The event marks the end of the project , Performing Resistance – the role of theatre and performance in 21st century workers’ movements

All previous workshops took place online, so despite marking an ending, we’re excited to welcome you and work with each other in person for the first time at the Working Class Movement Library.

Spaces for this event are expected to be in high demand. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your order so that someone on the waitlist can take your place.

Notes for Attendees

Our events space has a ramp on entry, an accessible toilet and air purifier. If you have any access requirements then please let us know in advance of the event so we can make your visit as comfortable as we can.

The history of the groups, campaigns and individuals who make up our collection at the Working Class Movement Library has a wide range of positions and the Library is committed to ensuring that this range is available for people to explore for themselves.
